The pleasure wherry Hathor has been sailing the
Norfolk Broads rivers for over 100 years. It has
a connection to Ludham because it was
commissioned by the Colman Family (Miss Helen
and Miss Ethel) and launched by Joan Boardman
from How Hill.
You can
find a brief history of how this came about on this link.
Hathor was built at Reedham and launched in 1905
by Joan Boardman. Joan was born in January 1902
so she was 3 and a half years old at the time.
She released doves at the launching ceremony.
The Boardman family albums contain 8 photographs
of the launch. Here are the photographs.
