Safe Walking Route
between Ludham Bridge and Ludham Village
|
A Walk from
Ludham Bridge to Ludham Village and Back avoiding
dangerous traffic
It is
simply not safe to walk along the A1062 main road
between Ludham Bridge and Ludham Village. There is no
footpath between Johnson Street and the Village Hall
and the road is narrow with blind corners and fast
traffic.
Here is an alternative
route along roads with safe footpaths, public
footpaths and quiet lanes.
The Route, Ludham Bridge to the
Village:
This
red arrow route takes you on quiet lanes and public
footpaths far from the busy traffic on the A1062.
DIRECTIONS (look out for the red arrows).
1. From Ludham Bridge walk along the main road passing the
shops on your left. There is a good roadside footpath on
the left hand side of the road.
2. Continue to a road junction just past the Dog Inn and
turn right into a quiet lane (Hall Road).
3. Continue along the lane until you come to the entrance
to Ludham Hall Farm on your left. Go through the farm
gates and follow the footpath between the farm house on
your left and barns on your right. Continue on the
footpath between fields until you come to a junction of
paths.
4. Take the left hand path which quickly curves right into
Lovers Lane. Follow the lane with houses on your left
until you come to a T junction.
5. Turn right at the T junction into Norwich Road which
has a good roadside footpath on the right hand side.
Follow this road into the middle of Ludham Village. You
will know you are there when you see the church on your
right and the pub (Kings Arms) on your left.
The Route, The Village to Ludham
Bridge:
1. From the middle of Ludham Village walk along the
footpath at the side of Norwich Road with the Church on
your left and the King's Arms Pub on your right. Continue
along the left hand side of the road until you reach a
road on your left called Lovers Lane.
2. Turn left into Lovers Lane. Past the houses, the road
becomes a track and curves left between fields. You will
soon come to a junction of paths with a path leaving the
main track to the right and rising uphill towards farm
buildings following a hedge on the right. Turn right into
this path.
3. Follow the path between farm buildings and converted
barns. Go straight ahead through the farm gates and turn
right into the lane.
4. Follow the lane until you meet a main road at a T
junction. Turn left here and cross the main road to the
other side where there is a roadside footpath. Follow this
road to Ludham Bridge.
